The SCA girls won their 4th straight SCISA 2A championship in track on Saturday- as they tied Trinity Collegiate. Three of SCA's 4 titles have been decided by 5 points or less- so the close result is something the girls expect.
Only 7 girls made the trip- and every one of them made a crucial contribution to the title.
Logan Morris won 3 events for the 2nd straight year. She won the 3200, 1600, and 800 meters.
Madison Seay won the 100 hurdles and set a school record on her leg of the 4 by 800 relay- which also came in 1st.
Shelby Wright finished 2nd both the 400 and 800 meters.
Madison Burgess finished 2nd in both the 3200 and 1600 meter race.
Taylor Morris finished 3rd in the 400.
And Hannah Ward and Kaylin Rogers ran their fastest times of the year in the 4 by 800 relay, which tied a school record.
The SCA boys had their best day in team history, as they scored 12 points and tied Thomas Sumter for 4th place.
Derrick Hackle became the 1st SCA guy to win a Track State Championship, as Derrick took 1st in the triple jump.
Isaac McCullough came in 2nd in the 400 hurdles.
Wes Melton finished 3rd in the triple jump.
Ben Christopher and Luke Johnson also competed at State. Ben was 4th in the 3200 meters and Luke 6th in the 800. Both freshmen hold the school record in their events.
SCA scored in all 3 relays. Ashton Poole, Uri Dreher, Jonathan Bell, Matt Howell, and David Bolton all ran in one of those relays.
It was a great ending to the season!
