Guys and Girls SCISA State Champions for Cross Country

The SCA Cross-Country teams both won State Championships Saturday at the SCISA State Meet.

The SCA guys won their 2nd title in the last 3 years, while the SCA girls took home their 12th title in a row.

•    Michael Burgess placed 1st and set a new school record.  Michael has now won 2 State championships.
•    His brother Matthew Burgess placed 2nd, and Avery Morris finished 8th. 
•    Tristian Correll and Dylan Wright both finished in the top 16 and ran their best times ever to secure the win for SCA.
•    Crosby Brackins and Seth Baugh also ran for SCA and posted their best of the season.

•    On the girl's side, SCA had 4 All-State runners.  Molly Suttle finished 3rd, Madison Burgess 8th, Daphne Guy 9th, and Kelsey Pace 10th. 
•    Brooklyn Pace finished 14th and ran her best of the year.  Ellissa Lankford and Kaylee Copeland also contributed for SCA.
 

Both the SCA guys and girls teams not only were the best in SCISA 2A, but also in all of SCISA.
