We will take a group picture of all the juniors at 6:15.  We will take a group picture of all the seniors at 6:20.  Both pictures will be taken at the waterfall. At 6:25 all students will make their way up to the Pavilion while parents leave Lion’s Gate.\nPARKING:\nWhen you get on to Stewart Road\, look for the lions at the first entrance of the Lion’s Gate Manor.  Students – go past the first Lion’s Gate entrance then you can park in the grass on the side of the road.  (A person will be there to instruct you.) Parents (PLEASE CARPOOL WITH GRANDPARENTS\, Aunts/Uncles – PARKING SPACES ARE LIMITED) – pull into the first Lion’s Gate entrance then proceed to go straight beside a green little building.  Follow the drive into a gravel parking lot.

DESCRIPTION:Our K3 through 12th grades will be collecting items for our Operation Christmas Child packing project now – November 14.  Each grade level will collect certain items.  ITEMS EACH GRADE LEVEL IS COLLECTING AND MORE! \nWe will have a school-wide packing party on Tuesday\, November 18. \nIf a family wants to make a box\, adhesive boy/girl labels with instructions are located near the front desk.  Please use a standard-size cardboard or plastic shoebox.  These may be returned to the office area or to your student’s homeroom from November 10th -19th.  Families may also BUILD A BOX ONLINE at our SCA link. www.scawarriors.org/shoeboxes \nMore information about Operation Christmas Child is available on this link. https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/ \nWe will have a special PTF focused on Operation Christmas Child.\nWe encourage you to take part in our Monday\, November 18th Parent Teacher Fellowship from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall (park near the fellowship hall). Families are invited to bring their completed Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes\, one per student\, or as many as your family would like to pack! That night\, there will be stations for families to visit as they bring their box.  There will be a photo opp area where families can take a photo with their box or boxes.  Students will have an activity area where they can color and complete a fun worksheet that can go in their box that makes the box even more personal.  Then there will be a station where they\, along with some of our teachers\, can pray over the box.  Shoe boxes and brochures will be available soon in the school office. Include payment in box unless paying online.  Online payment and shoebox packing information is available at:  samaritanspurse.org/occ.  Paying online allows you to follow your box destination. I think you all agree that Operation Christmas Child is a wonderful ministry worthy of our full participation. We are looking forward to seeing our SCA families serve together!

DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite ALL veterans to our program. \nOur special speaker for this year’s program is Adrian Acosta. \nAdrian Acosta is the Director of Public Relations for Spartanburg School District Two\, a role he has held for nearly 10 years. Born in Colombia\, South America and raised in Boiling Springs since infancy\, Adrian combines deep local roots with a broad range of experience in media\, military service\, and community engagement. \nAdrian earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the College of Charleston. Before joining Spartanburg School District Two\, he spent 13 years working with the Fox affiliate in Greenville\, honing his skills in communications and public affairs. \nIn 2000\, Adrian enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as part of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force during the onset of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. His unit was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for their actions in Iraq. Adrian earned an honorable discharge at the rank of Sergeant\, and his military decorations include the Global War on Terrorism Medal\, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon\, and the Iraq Campaign Medal with two bronze campaign stars. \nAdrian is a devoted family man\, married for 21 years to his high school sweetheart. Together\, they have four children\, including triplets who are seniors at Boiling Springs High School\, and their oldest daughter\, Natalie\, is a freshman at Converse University. He is an active member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church\, where he was baptized and born again in the likeness of Jesus in 2018. \n

SUMMARY:School Day ACT
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, October 28th\, almost all of our 10th-12th grade students are scheduled to take the ACT. They will need to make sure they are at school between 7:30 and 7:45. The ACT will be over between 12 and 12:30 pm. All students who are taking the ACT will be dismissed at that time. For students that do not drive\, pick up will be at our normal dismissal area at that time. 10th-12th grades students not taking the ACT will not need to come to school\, but should check Google Classroom for any assignments posted by their teachers. \n9th grade students will have a regular school day that day.

SUMMARY:PSAT Testing
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, October 22nd\, all of our 9th and 10th grade students will be taking the PSAT. All of our 11th grade students will be taking it on Thursday\, October 23rd. The PSAT is given digitally\, so your student will need to make sure they have their computer with them. The only type of computers that cannot be used are Chromebooks. If your child uses a Chromebook for their school work\, we will provide them with a computer to use. We only have a limited supply\, so we do need everyone to bring the computer they normally use. The test will only take around 2 hours and 30 minutes\, so students will have a normal school day outside of their testing time

SUMMARY:High School Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Every year our High School goes on a retreat in the fall for 2 nights and 3 days. This year\, we will be going to Look Up Lodge. This retreat is included in your tuition\, so there is no extra charge for it. We will be leaving on October 14th and returning on October 16th. More detailed information to come as we get closer to those dates.

DESCRIPTION:Our theme for Homecoming is SCA on Film. \nWe will have Spirit Days (Dress Up) during homecoming week for grades 5K – 12th to participate. \nSpirit Days:\nMonday – Super Hero vs Villian Day\nTuesday – Stunt Double (Come dressed as a movie character duos or groups with your friends.)\nWednesday – Movie Marathon (Come in pajama bottoms and slippers.)\nThursday – Animated Character Day\nFriday – Western (Wear your homecoming t-shirt and add your western accessories.) \nStudents must meet handbook guidelines for dress up days.
