In an effort to provide a bridge between elementary and middle school, SCA developed an intermediate school for 5^th and 6^th grades. The goal of these transition years is to encourage students’ independence, develop skills that will benefit students in middle school, and provide opportunities for growth while still in the nurturing environment of the elementary atmosphere. Core subjects include Bible, English, Reading, History, and Math. Students have elective classes in PE and computer, and choose between art, chorus, or band beginning in the 5^th grade. In the Spring students in Intermediate school participate in Stanford 10 testing. The Olsat test is given in the 5^th grade.
